About Me
I'm Erin, twenty-two years young and a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where I earned a BA in Journalism, Advertising and Media Studies with a certificate in Digital Arts and Culture.
I took my first marketing class my sophomore year of high school, which quickly became my favorite class and set the stage for my choice in degree. Going into college, I followed my love of writing into the journalism program and soon found a happy medium between marketing and creative writing by choosing an Advertising and Public Relations focus. |
Career Goals
Right now my biggest fear isn't money, it's not being able to do what I love. Whether its by working another internship or landing my first full-time job, I'm ready to work hard.
I can see career going towards either copywriting or public relations. I have always enjoyed creative writing and would love a career that allows me to use that skill in some form. Preferably, this would be in an agency setting. I crave variety and a well designed, creative workplace. I'm a very go-with-the-flow person, so my five year goals are a little more abstract than saying I want to be a so-and-so at so-and-so agency making so-and-so salary. What I do know: I want to be at a point where I am seen as a valuable member of the team, that I have a unique combination of skills that are key to the success of my team. I would love to be at the point where I am trusted as a mentor... supervising interns, guest speaking for college classes or clubs, etc. And of course, I would love to have a few projects that I am genuinely proud of. |
Interests
Ever since I was a little girl, I have loved to read. I tend to get lost in novels, often reading them from start to finish in a day or two. My favorites are set in places I've never been, about people different from those I know. From that I naturally developed an interest in writing, and as it turns out at bit of talent as well. Now that I am finished with school, I hope to dedicate some of my new found free time to blogging.
I am definitely a city girl. I love exploring Milwaukee as well as traveling to new cities. I love the personality of the neighborhoods, bustling downtown streets, and a constant cycle of new entertainment options to explore. Lately, I am into saving money, daydreaming on Pinterest and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. |
